Twitter May Ban ICO Ads
What happened
Twitter is planning to restrict advertisements for ICOs, token sales and cryptocurrency wallets globally, Sky News reports.
Another one.. When will it happen?
According to reports, the new ad policy will come in place in two weeks. Twitter may also ban ads for cryptocurrency exchanges, with some yet unspecified exceptions.
Why is it important
We already wrote that Twitter is looking into measures to stop spreading the cryptocurrency-related scam (https://t.me/yoken/362). A number of prominent Twitter users and crypto influencers, including Vitalik Buterin, have complained about the increase in scam flow.
What can we learn from it
- Key online platforms, including Google (https://t.me/yoken/379) and Facebook (https://t.me/yoken/287) follow the same path to restrict crypto ads – at least, until the regulatory standards are in place.
- Those measures, aimed to protect users, make ICO marketing more challenging and motivate crypto entrepreneurs to find new ways to promote their products.
