What is signature?
Signature campaign is a way to spread a word on crypto forums, mainly on Bitcointalk (BTT). There are no ads on BTT, so you have to be creative to deliver you info. That’s why the users sell their signatures for tokens.
How does it work?
Any forum gives an option to automatically set up a signature under each message a user posts. In a signature campaign description, ICO projects state important terms and conditions for participants.
Why do I need it?
To increase the awareness among the BTT audience which might not see your actual token sale description. Signatures usually contain the key links to your website, White Paper, blog or chat. That way, the signature gives the forum users a chance to quickly browse a project that caught their eyes.
Got it. Which terms and conditions shall I add?
- Who can participate. Often the low-rank users – could be the new or non-active ones – are not eligible to participate.
- What signature needs to be posted. Depending on the rank, BTT users might have various numbers of characters to spare.
- How long the signature should be kept. Cheaters who post a signature for a few days and then join another campaign, are disqualified.
- Which threads to post messages to. Not a must, but recently it’s a thing to ask for posting in the Altcoin thread.
